Partnership with Parents

We recognise parents as the first and most important educators of their children. We see ourselves as partners with parents and like to build a strong relationship and fully encourage open communication. We actively provide opportunities for this to take place.

> Open door policy:
Prospective parents and children are able to visit anytime without having an appointment. If existing parents are ever worried or concerned about anything or have any issues they would like to discuss, they can always speak to the manager or a member of staff.

> Open evening:
This is an informal evening before your child starts Pre-school where parents can meet the team, the child’s key person and the trustees. Parents can also obtain detailed information and ask questions on how the Pre-school operates.

> Taster sessions:
This is another opportunity for you and your child to come and play, meet the team and your child’s key person, discuss any worries or concerns you may have before your child starts Pre-school.

> Parents evening:
This is an chance for parents to meet with their child’s key person on an informal basis. These sessions are held throughout the year.

> Stay and play sessions:
This is an additional session held every 4 to 6 weeks. These sessions are an opportunity for you as parents to stay and play, to explore the curriculum alongside your child, with fun and hands-on experiences. Each session is based on a development area from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). These are specifically designed to give parents a clearer understanding of the EYFS.

> Communication file:
Each child and members of staff has their own file for easy communication between parents and staff.
